How To Style Menswear Pants

So, I was talking with my mom this weekend about how denim trends are changing, and after finally finding the perfect pair of skinny jeans, now we have to find something else! Although I do love my skinny jeans, I have to admit I am also really loving the “dad” jeans, which are exactly what you think they are: 90’s style straight leg jeans. There’s just something about a wider leg and loose fit that is refreshing…and comfortable!

This trend not only applies to jeans, but workwear and other pants, too. I ordered this pair of Abercrombie menswear tailored pants a few months back, but just came around to wearing them because truth be told, I just wasn’t sure how to style them. After finally putting them on one day after I was planning outfits to shoot for the blog (they’ve just been staring at me in my closet, begging to see the light of day) and styling them a few different ways, I fell in love. First, this specific pair has an elastic waist and is loose through the hips and thighs, which makes them super comfortable. When styled appropriately, they could make a great work option for a trendier look! These menswear pants can also be dressed down, as I’ll show you here. As always, you can click the photo to shop the looks!

Work

As mentioned, when styled the right way, menswear straight pants can be so chic for work. Pair them with a button down or satin blouse, blazer and a pair of heels and you’re good to go!

Brunch

What I love about these pants is how versatile they are, and how easily they can elevate a look. Sure, this layered look would look cute with jeans, but swap the denim for a tailored knit pant and you look that much put together. These can easily be styled for a Saturday brunch or trips to the farmers market.

Errands

If you’re in a rush or just not feeling like putting too much effort into your look for the day, but still want to look presentable, swap your leggings or sweatpants out for these! Honestly, they’re so loose and comfortable that you probably wouldn’t even notice the difference between these or your sweats!

So, what do you think? Are you willing to give this trend a try?!
