Winter Capsule Wardrobe

Happy new year, friends! I cannot believe we are in the year 2024. I don’t want to jinx myself, but I have good feelings about this year. I have a career that I love, and lots of exciting events to look forward to in the coming year. What are you looking forward to in 2024?

I shared on Instagram that I will be participating in “no spend January”, where I only spend money on absolute necessities. I have to admit that over the past few years, I have really fallen into the mass consumerism that has taken over America. Keeping up with trends, purchasing Amazon products that I really don’t need; as I declutter my house, I understand that I simply have too much. This month, I will be sharing outfits that I shopped my closet for, a lot of them surrounding the “capsule wardrobe” idea. A capsule wardrobe is a wardrobe you build off of basic wardrobe staples, such as a good pair of denim, trousers, pair of booties, etc. My goal is to share outfits styling these wardrobe basics a variety of ways so that you can turn to your own closet and feel confident styling pieces you already own.

In my opinion, below are the capsule wardrobe basics you need for winter. Of course, you can always add a sweater or tee to this. Typically, capsule wardrobes are based on neutrals and pieces that can be paired a myriad of ways. However, if your aesthetic is colorful, and you own a pair of pink pants you know you can style a million ways, then those should be apart of your wardrobe!
