Happy Wednesday, friends! If you follow my TikTok, then you know I’ve been slowly but surely going through areas of my home and decluttering, cleaning and organizing. I have been wanting to reorganize this space for awhile, as it has become a “catch all” space for the random things around the house.
Let me preface this by saying I absolutely love our house, but the one thing I don’t love is the fact that the primary bed and bathroom do not have a dedicated linen closet, rather a few shelves in the primary closet. I would much prefer to have a closet with a door that I can close and hide the mess, but alas, we make do with what we have!
Here is what the “closet” looked like before…
As you can see, it quite literally was a space for all of the random bathroom (and some non-bathroom) related things. It made the rest of our primary closet seem messy as well, so I finally decided to tackle this mess. I started by removing everything from all of the shelves and giving them a good dusting (was much needed) and wipe down. From there, I tackled the organization portion. I purchased some acrylic drawers and baskets from Amazon to help with this, and they really made a difference!
I used the acrylic drawers to store travel toiletries and smaller items, and the various sized baskets now hold towels, actual toiletry bags for travel, and extra first aid supplies! I feel much better now that I have thrown away the junk and organized our extra items! It’s truly amazing what a few baskets and storage bins can do for a space, ha!
