May Favorite Things

I cannot believe that I am writing my “favorite things” post for the month of May. How has it already come and gone?! The days seem to be going by so slow during this quarantine, but time also seems to be traveling fast. Personally, I’d like to fast forward time a little quicker to the day when we no longer have to be afraid of this pandemic!

During my time at home, I have been ordering (too many) products and items to try, especially during the month of May, where there were so many good sales! I’m sharing my favorite things I tried this past month with you here, and hopefully you can find some new things to try, too!

Sephora Precision Pore Cleansing Pad

This is by far my favorite product that I have ordered during this entire quarantine! I used to use a cleansing brush on my face, but it kept breaking. I’m not quite ready to invest in a Clarisonic brush, or another expensive brand, so during the Sephora sale I decided to try this product. For $7, it can’t be beat! I wet my face, put a dime size amount of cleanser on this pad, then scrub my face. My skin has been so much softer since I have been using this, and I have been breaking out less!

Essie Gel Nail Polish

May was the month when I officially attempted my first at-home manicure. I had wanted to give my nails some time to “breathe” and fully repair themselves after years of getting dip nails. I wanted a nail polish that wouldn’t chip after one day of wear, and while I was skeptical when I originally ordered the Essie gel nail polish, it pleasantly surprised me! I use the gel color polish and top it off with the Essie gel top coat, and my nails last a good, full seven days before I even notice a chip. So far, my longest manicure using these polishes has lasted about 12 days, which isn’t too shabby for an at-home mani! I highly recommend these gel polishes for anyone missing their nail salon!

The Salty Kiss Linen Dress

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I have a slight obsession with white dresses. This white midi dress is no exception! I’m so happy to be partnering with The Rose Hanger Shop and show off this adorable white, midi dress with a gorgeous open back. It is perfect for summer and I am dying to wear this to a beach! You can shop this look and get 15% off your entire order from the Rose Hanger Shop with code “SWEETSAVLEIGH15”!

Glossier CloudPaint

I had no idea it was possible to be so in love with a beauty product as I am with Glossier’s CloudPaint. I have no idea how I have lived 25 years on this Earth without it! I tried the shade “Dusk”, and was so nervous when it arrived that it would be too dark, but it is the perfect shade for that “sunkissed” look. I apply this and a little mascara for an everyday “quarantine makeup” look!

Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo

Okay, this isn’t a “new” product for me, I’ve been using it for some time now. However, this is definitely a product that got a LOT of use in the month of May! Especially since I have been increasing my workouts and time outside, I have been sweating a lot more, but not wanting to wash my hair every day. My hair gets greasy quickly, so dry shampoo is a must for me. I have tried SO many dry shampoos, but this one takes the cake. What I love about it is I can put it in one day, and it lasts a few days after that. I don’t have to continuously re-apply dry shampoo so my hair feels cakey and is loaded with product. I use the “Lush” smell, and it makes my hair smell like I just left the salon!
