Hey y’all! This is my first official beauty review post, and I’m really excited about it! Since quarantine has started, I have gone from putting on a full face of makeup daily (primer, foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush, eyeliner and mascara) to simply putting face cream on my face and calling it a day. Most days I love being makeup free, but there are the occasional times when I do go out that I want to look put together, but without putting on a full face of makeup. I have known about Glossier for awhile now, but have never actually tried their products. Their brand promotes natural looking beauty and simple products, so I decided to give them a try!
After searching their website, trying to find the best products to try, I came across this Daily Makeup Set, which includes the Cloud Paint, Boy Brow, and Lash Slick. I thought this was a great way to try a couple products, and they were all products that I was looking for anyways! The Boy Brow was easy to select because it obviously is categorized by hair color, but I definitely spent some time studying the different shades of Cloud Paint to try to find my perfect shade. There are a lot of pretty shades that I think would look amazing on all skin tones! That’s what made selecting just one so hard! In the end, I selected the shade Dusk, thinking it will help make my skin look a bit sunkissed during these summer months.
Along with the set, I ordered the Generation G lipstick in shade crush. I never wear lipstick, or even lip gloss on a daily basis, but I have been in the market for a lip color that is easy and puts just a little bit of color on my lips. I am so happy I ordered this! The shade looks darker online, and at first sight, it is dark! I was worried when I first opened it, but I put just one swipe on my lips and it’s the perfect barely there berry color. The lipstick itself is not drying, but also not super moisturizing; I definitely have to put some lip balm on throughout the day to keep my lips moisturized, but the color lasts awhile!
As soon as I received my cute little package (it shipped super quick, too!), I immediately went into the bathroom to try everything out. I can honestly say I love the Boy Brow, and this will probably become my new go-to brow product. The brush is perfect for applying the product, but also blending it and shaping your brows. I don’t have to spend a whole lot of time trying to shape and blend my brows perfectly when I am using this product! I am also incredibly happy with the Cloud Paint! Just like the Generation G lipstick, when I first saw the color, I was worried. It does look like a burnt sienna shade when it comes out of the tube, but once applied, it definitely gives me that little bit of sunkissed glow that I was hoping for! Also, a little bit goes a long way with this product. I seriously only use a pea size amount on both cheeks!
The only product that I am not in love with is the Lash Slick. The brush is a lot thinner than I am used to, and it takes a few coats to even look like I applied any mascara at all. If you’re going for a natural look, I think this mascara would definitely be great for you! I am just used to a thicker brush and a mascara that really creates fuller looking lashes, so I think I am just not used to such a light mascara as this one.
Overall, I really love Glossier’s products and am pleased with my purchase! I am definitely going to make it a habit of applying this little bit of makeup every day (well, almost every day) to help myself feel a little more put together. If you are looking to try Glossier’s makeup products, I highly recommend the Makeup Set! It’s a great way to try different products at a great price!
