Fall Decor

Hi friends! Welcome to my very first ever blog post! I’m excited to sharing fall decor as my first post because, just like every other *basic* girl out there, I absolutely adore fall! The crisp air, fall fragrances, beautiful leaves changing color, and let’s not forget #sweaterweather. What’s not to love about this season?!

There’s just something about the leaves changing color that makes me always feel ready for a change, too. I think that most people feel this way in spring, as a “renewal” or a “refresh” of their life, but I always feel this way in the fall. I find myself setting goals for myself in the fall that I hope to achieve by the end of the year, and while they may have not seemed attainable back in May or July, I always feel motivated and as if I can accomplish anything in this season. Maybe it’s just the pumpkin spice lattes fueling my determination, or maybe it’s this quote from F. Scott Fitzgerald that I have been obsessed with ever since I read The Great Gatsby in 10th grade.

As much as I love exploring and going on adventures, I am also quite the homebody as well. Along with cozy sweaters comes cozy throw blankets and pillows, with warm accents around the home to create the ultimate “curl up and binge watch tv” setting. Here I am sharing a few of the fall decor items I have around our little apartment, which are all on major sale right now!

Kirkland’s has quickly become one of my new favorite home stores. I don’t know how I have lived this long without shopping here! Luckily, Kirkland’s are all over the Dallas area, so while I was out running errands one day I decided to stop in and oh.my.goodness, am I thankful I did! I fell in love with all of their decor. They carry quality pieces that will look fit in with any home style, but the best part are the prices! Everything from their wall paintings to their vases are incredibly affordable for the quality of item you are getting.

Since our apartment is pretty neutral, I like to keep our decorations soft and neutral as well, with pops of color. I was able to snag the last of this “hello, fall” sign as one of the final touches to our fireplace mantle. Right now it is 50% off, and is a piece that will definitely last years to come! It is the perfect color of burnt orange and will accent well with other fall colors. The neutral pumpkins were found from Target, and are linked here and here.

All of the throw pillows on our couch are from Kirkland’s! As I mentioned, I like to keep regular decor items neutral year-round, and add pops of color. This pumpkin patch throw pillow is adorable, and ties in well with the rest of my “pumpkin theme” decor. The larger throw pillows are linked here.

Our centerpiece on our table is always one of my favorite places to decorate. When we moved, I found this affordable faux marble tray and felt it was a perfect piece that can be decorated year-round. I keep this inexpensive jar (I actually think I found it at Dollar Tree!) filled with seasonal decor, and for fall I found these mini pumpkins at Target to fill it with! I only used the metallic color because I prefer the tones of those compared to the bright orange.

I always have candles lit, and as mentioned before, love fall fragrances. My absolute favorite is “marshmallow fireside” from Bath and Body Works. I burn this all throughout fall and winter! This candle holder stays put on the tray year-round, and is swapped with seasonal fragrances. To top of any decor I may have, I always make sure to have a fresh bouquet of flowers! I find that Trader Joe’s usually has great bouquets, do you guys have a favorite place to find yours?!
