Happy Wednesday, friends! I’m here to share what might be a controversial topic for some, but one that we simply cannot ignore much longer. Mom jeans are in. There, I said it! Whether Generation Z says they are or not, we have to admit that the loose-fitting jeans are in fact, trendy. Now, this doesn’t mean that you have to throw all of your beloved skinny jeans away just yet. I have a feeling the skinny jean will still be in style, they just look so chic and put-together! However, I do think it’s a good idea to start shopping for a new pair of jeans if you haven’t already. I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t a fan of the mom jeans at first, either! I thought they just looked like a paper sack on my petite frame. I was determined to try to pull off the look, so I went on the hunt for some petite-friendly mom jeans, and found some really good ones! The more I wear them, the more comfortable they get! Express Super High Waisted Knit Mom Jeans
Okay, this pair ties for first as my favorite! These are so stretchy and comfortable, I could actually wear these all day. These run big, so I recommend sizing down one size from your normal. I am wearing these in a 0, but there is a lot of room in the waist! I like that these are not distressed, so they are a little more appropriate to wear to a more “formal” outing. I am wearing a 0 regular and the fit is great for petites! They hit right at my ankle.
Express Super High Waisted Ripped Straight Jean
Next are another pair of jeans from Express. These quickly sold out in the petite, so I decided to try the regular. These I felt were too long to really look “good”, and they are also a much tighter fit than the knit mom jeans. I am wearing a 0 regular and there is barely any stretch to these. They are a cute design, though!
Abercrombie High Waisted Mom Jeans
I’ve had this pair of jeans for nearly two years now, when mom jeans first hit the market and I thought they would immediately be the next big thing and had to have them. I’m happy to report that these have held up well the past two years, and have been worn quite a bit! These mom jeans do stretch, which I love, and are a very comfortable fit. I wear my normal 25 petite in these and they fit perfectly! This is my go-to mom jean. I personally love all of Abercrombie’s jeans, I think they are so comfortable, the fit is perfect, and you can’t beat the price when they have sales!
American Eagle Stretch Mom Jeans
I really, really like this pair of mom jeans for the exact reason that is in their name: they’re stretchy. Another very comfortable pair of jeans that you can easily wear all day. American Eagle does an amazing job of offering a variety of sizes, so I ordered these in the 0 regular and they fit well, a little big, but I personally like that in a mom jean! These were definitely long, and I had to cuff them. I will try to order them in petite when my size becomes available!
American Eagle Next Level Super Soft Mom Jean
Okay, I have to admit, these jeans are incredibly soft. You don’t even realize you are wearing jeans! I love the look of these jeans and feel like they have a true “mom jean” look to them. I ordered a 0 short and they fit perfectly! I would order your normal size.
Overall, I’m really pleased with the mom jeans that I did get to order and try on for you! Some are better than others, especially for petites, but overall, I’d say the market has our mom jean needs taken care of!
